Jonathan Hill
The Compton Group

Jonathan Hill began his career as an international economist at the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington D.C. before moving to Pittsburgh.  He worked at PNC Bank for more than 15 years as a Vice President and Senior Economist.    He has also worked as an adjunct faculty member at area educational institutions, most recently at Duquesne University where he taught courses on the global economy at the John F. Donahue Graduate School of Business.  He has also taught at the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA).  Most recently, he has been involved in real estate development and investments.

He is an active member of the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh having served on the Education Committee for more than 10 years and most recently serves on the newly formed Programming Committee.  His focus in recent years has been on the European Union and international trade and finance issues.  He is a past-President and of the Economic Club of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Hill received a Masters of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.  He majored in International Economics and Business with an emphasis on energy issues in Europe.  His Master’s Thesis focused on the development of the North Sea oil industry.  He has a B.A. from Bowdoin College where he majored in Economics and Government and wrote a senior thesis on the Common Agricultural Policy of the then European Economic Community (now EU).
